Default Utilities Advice for North Dallas

Hi All

Well, we're 11 days and counting until we leave L.A. for Dallas . My wife and I found a 3bdr condo just south of the 635 off of Preston in North Dallas. Does anyone have advice on high speed internet, electric, etc. for that area?

We like our Verizon FIOS, it's cable, internet and phone. Our bill is about 170/m.

We use TXU for electric, we pay .13/kwh.

I use Time Warner Cable for internet and TXU for electricity.

Are you off Harvest Hill, by chance?

We moved here last friday. We ordered Time Warner 7/24 and they can't come out until 8/15. Verizon Fios isn't available here (75240)

We went with AT&T for DSL. Green Mountain for electricity.

It's nothing fancy, but we're renting a 3bdr for under a thousand bucks, so compared to what we pay now in L.A. for a 1bdr we're happy. Plus there are not a whole lot of rental choices close to our syangogue, which we need to be in walking distance to.

Does Charter (cable/internet) service that area? Ours was set up the next day. Welcome to Texas!

I just checked, they don't. The soonest Time Warner can come out is august 29th which is ridiculous. I guess that's what happens when you have a monopoly.....
