* One more question, how is the tornado threat to the city, what kind of risk we are talking about?

Thanks
You'd like east Plano or east Richardson. Great schools, very diverse, many SE Asians live there. Many SE Asian restaurants and shopping too! Great cultural stuff.

I've lived here since 1989, experienced one minor tornado that did no damage. Saw a funnel cloud a few weeks ago. It's not a big deal.

Welcome!!

Very humid in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I would not live in Dallas, but only in the outskirts like McKinney(north of Dallas.)

Well that is an incredibly uninformed decision.

I just visited DFW a few weeks ago and am happy to report that we are moving. DFW has what we are looking for... the gist of it from our view is that Chicago the city is nicer than Dallas the city, but the Dallas suburbs are nicer than the Chicagoland suburbs.

Really? funny how people have different perspectives. When I'm up there I notice how unkept a majority of Chicago is compared to Dallas. Dallas is a much cleaner city, much less visible chronic homelessness as well. Chicago does have Dallas in the historical department though which gives it more of a sense of place, but I don't think I would ever say Chicago is a nicer city.

Dallas the city where I live is paradise. I don't go out to the 'burbs. And I've been to Chicago and its 'burbs many times. Lakewood in the city of Dallas for instance is like some of the older Chicago suburbs. You must not have seen much of the city of Dallas.

Chicago is a fantastic city. But the reason that the city of Dallas isn't as dense or as special is because people move out to the boring 'burbs. Then they complain that there is nothing to do in the city while ignoring the fact that they are part of the problem.

Chicago is absolutely a better city than Dallas, and I agree that the Dallas suburbs are better than the Chicago suburbs.
