3:00 – 8:00 Volunteers on the list to receive Rally T-shirts may pick up their shirts at 4503 Bridge St .

5:30 – Post event Gathering & Dinner at The Pour House (private room), 2nd floor restaurant & bar (elevator accessible, full menu available, Dutch treat), 209 W. 5th St .

TRANSPORTATION: The PEACE TRAIN from Dallas to Fort Worth arrives at the Intermodal Transportation Center two blocks from the Rally site at 12:30 p.m. Volunteers will walk folks to the Rally. A van will shuttle those who need to ride.

TRAININGS & LOW-COST HOUSING/MEALS OFFERED Fri., Aug. 31st: Dallas Peace Center has rented the Catholic Renewal Center in Fort Worth & will offer housing, meals & trainings for a total of $25. See attachment.

DONATIONS NEEDED: While many items needed for the Rally are being provided free or on loan, there is a need for donations of cash to make this event possible. Donations to Texans for Peace, a 501c3 non-profit, are tax exempt. Donations of airline miles are needed to help guest speakers.

MEDIA/PRESS: To help this Rally send one, clear, concise, unified message, please refer all reporters to Texans for Peace media consultant Alyssa Burgin, aburgin@texansforpeace.org.

I don't think Deep Ellum is 'gone' - it's going through a transition and a lot people are worried developers are going to tear down the old buildings.

I had lunch today at the AllGood Cafe - it was full and I saw several people I know (mostly from Lakewood) - a classmate of mine since kindergarten owns Century Modern Furniture a couple of doors down. His store is doing very well.

Also, at Monica's on the other end of the block, a whole tour bus was unloading people for lunch. We had a bit of trouble finding a close parking space.

What about the weekly pychadelic drum jam on Wednesday nights at The across the street bar. Hippies drum in circle with girls and guys spinnin fire and dancin around.
