But there are also excellent schools and pockets of schools (ie, AP/IB clusters) in nearly every district, including DISD. To write the whole district of 200 schools and 200,000 students is a disservice to the schools and students who are academic superstars.
I posted the ratings based on TAKS results. People can take this info and do what they want with it.

I really don't see how my personal history is relevant to the data I provided, other than you are miffed and are lashing out like a child.

>>It's all based on parent reviews. I can set up 100 different accounts and rate my fave schools with all 5 stars in every area and up their "great schools ratings". Big WHOOP-DE-DOO!<<

Exactly. And reviews from people that aren't even parents but want to make their schools look good if they are selling or have houses to rent or what's to stop them from giving not so good reviews to competitive schools.

You failed to post stats for the entire DISD district. Like stated most people would agree that Plano has a excellent school district. The issue here is the fact that a quality education can be found in DISD with some minimum research. You excluded magnets and T&G schools in DISD because you felt it was not revelant to the discussion.

>>Again, greatschools.org is basing their rating on the TAKS test scores, not parent reviews.<<

People go there to read the "parent" reviews.

Not sure why anyone would go to that much effort however:

That is why people need to actually visit the campuses and talk to parents, teachers and students. Astounding how people would rather pay thousands in tuition or move out to the boondocks and subject themselves to hours of commuting rather than cross the threshold of a school door to do some homework.

I didn't include any magnet schools in any district, true.

Please don't mislead people into thinking anyone can go to a Dallas magnet school. They cannot. Magnet schools have eligibility requirements, many have waiting lists.

Someone living in Allen, TX, can apply for Gifted and Talented in Dallas. Anyone can. So what?

I'm sorry, did I miss a post where people were saying bad/incorrect things about PISD that got you all riled up? Because I don't think any of us understand the barrage of pro-Plano, DISD sucks posts from you.

Plano is a top 2-3 public district in North Texas. The district is much much stronger than DISD as a whole. No one is disputing that. There are some fabulous neighborhood elementary schools in DISD and a handful of high schools where the white students (typically the more affluent group) and academic high achievers do go toe-to-toe with their suburban peers. Parents who want to live in DISD CAN navigate the district and get an equal or better education than other area disrricts.

Bottom line- your being new to the forum and making all these posts just seems very strange.

Like the woman in the other thread about the Lakewood elementary school being crowded with stacks of paper on the floors?

I know my Plano elementary school my kids go to isn't like that.

Or does she have a crusade too?
