While taking a trip down memory lane...does anyone remember those great hunks of Mrs. Bairds' Bread (with fresh butter) that they gave you after touring the plant? I wonder if they still give those out?

Default remember..

- Bonanza restaurants, Western Sizzlin both located in FB on Josey Ln.

- Restaurant Row in Dallas off I-35 was the place to be when they had the Alamo Cafe, Bennigans, Red Lobster, Porterhouse, and Trail Dust?

- My mom and sister would go to Sacowitz (sp) off the tollway and shop forever.

- Tatu was on the Dallas Sidekicks

- The old Republic Bank building downtown (when you called time and temp. the recorded voice would say "Republic Bank time 8-- Downtown temperature")

Oh yeah, Bonanza and Sizzler were big time. We went all the time.

Funny how Restaurant Row has moved and the old one still has a few things like Old San Francisco but everything else moved.

Sakowitz Village. Still called that I believe but now has a HUGE 2 story Bed, Bath & Beyond. I could spend all day in there

And he took his shirt off everytime he scored.

Still call time and temp but it is not as fun as it used to be. My kids freaked out when I first had them call it for themselves. Oh, for you newbies you can dial 972 or 214 844 and any 4 numbers. Example: 972-844-1234, 214-844-1234, 972-844-9876.

>> Bonanza restaurants <<

As a kid we would eat at a Bonanza (but not in Dallas). I thought the way you ordered and you got to pick out your dessert (jello w/whipped topping anyone?) was really cool. Loved the salad bar. Are Bonanza's even around anymore? I remember there was one in Kingsville right along the highway.

I think I recently saw one here in the Nashville area and was shocked! There might still be one in Texarkana, but not sure. Needless to say it brought back some memories

Bonanza's corporate headquarters were in Dallas. I remember the one on Mockingbird just east of Central the best...

I think there was a Bonanza in far south Garland near Broadway/Beltline and 30.

Anyone remember the creek walk in side Collin Creek Mall?

Absolutely! I was so bummed when they got rid of that in favor of more generic shops. My kids LOVED the baseball card place and the candy store.

Going way, way back - anyone remember when there was something similar on the bottom level of Valley View? Not as explicitly defined as the area at Collin Creek, but there were some shops there with unique, handcrafted items. Probably early to mid '70's - not long after VV was built.

Are you referring to the Mrs. Bairds plant at Mockingbird & NCX? That plant has been closed for some time now, so I doubt they are passing out anything.

I saw Buddy Rich at Granny's when I was 14...I sat 8 feet away. I'll never forget that night - wow!
