Anyone remember the Playboy club off Central expressway. Went once with a friend and thought I was in heaven.

Oh yes, we went to the Playboy Club couple times dresses in our slinky danskin tops. That was by the Dallas Cowboys Club. Elan & Da Vincis was popular too!

Took my........ prom date there, after dinner at Arthur's (sp?).... With my fake ID and my parent's credit card. Yes, they both worked.

And yes, I was like I am now even back then.

One of my classmates (who shall remain nameless - she was the daughter of a local TV anchorman) was a 'bunny'. She packed a derringer in her décolletage.

i remember the Playboy club, in the building Central Expressway Tower (what was it, 15 stories?-some tower). I was 14 or 15 and went to the Clipper Ship barber-shop. They had playboys at that barber shop, I think I sneaked a peek. I don't remember Arthur's being there, but I do remember it at Campbell Center, when Clipper Ship moved to Campbell Center.

From Arthur's website.

Quote:
Over time, Arthur's moved from its original location on McKinney Avenue to the Campbell Center on Central Expressway in 1973 and, most recently, to Quorum Drive in Addison in 2001.
Was the Playboy club ever at Campbell Center? Interesting what you can find on a google search, a former bunny, one of the original bunnies at the opening of the club posted on a forum that it was only open for 4 years, this was on an Ex Playboy Bunnies Message Board. Go figure, there is a forum for everything.

Not that I'm aware of. The only location I remember was on Central, but much further south.

That is what I thought. So did you take your prom date to Arthur's at Campbell Center, or the Playboy Club at Expressway Tower. Your post above is confusing since they were not at the same location. I always wanted to go to Arthur's but it was a little too mature for my tastes. I took my prom date to Trader Vick's at the Hilton on Mockingbird at Central.

Here's an amusing bit of trivial nostalgia ... the building that houses The Magic Time Machine restaurant on Beltline was originally the Addison JR / SR high school. I was in the building as a teenager in 1969 or 70. There wasn't much left but the lockers and the stage of the auditorium. Beltline was a two lane road and most everything north was farmland. Anyone else remember? .... thanks I know ....I'm real flippin' old now

We drove to Playboy for more drinks after dinner at Arthur's.
