I remember but more when Belt Line was a bit wider (early memories of the 60's are fuzzy for me). The "Addison School" was boarded up and the ONLY thing on that stretch of road for miles. Pretty much like that well into the 70's from what I remember. Going North on Marsh Lane past Belt Line was a BARELY 2 lane blacktop.

I only went once, but was very impressed , not only with the bunnies, but the service.
Five or six of us went after a rehersal dinner for a buddies wedding. This was not the bachelor party. One of the guys actually was a card holder. I believe that was 50.00 a year or something like that.
They didn't let a beer or a drink get empty before they asked if you would like another. I smoked at the time and inquired where a cigarette machine might be. The bunny asked what brand, and returned moments later , opened the pack, lite one and handed it to me. Ok, so I had given her 5.00 and didn't get any change. Who cares!
I never had occation to return, and then it closed.
Oh well.

Another place I loved going to was Baby Doe's of Stemmons. It was very popular and stayed opened for a long time for a restaurant. When I was in highschool Baby Does and the restaurant on top of Reunion were top dogs.

Really, there was nothing there! And what is there now is not exactly an improvement
Every time we went 'out in the country' (going the back way to Lake Dallas or Lake Texoma) and saw the Addison School my father would always say that is where Audie Murphy went to school.

Anyone remember the Festival theatre and the midnight show for spaced-out hippies we called "The Flicks"? For some reason the animated short film "Thank You Masked Man" sticks out in my memory.

Well, I am no former spaced-out hippie, though I have read about them, but I possibly recall that short film. I went to an animated film festival of a bunch of short films at SMU in McFarland Auditorium, and I do recall seeing a short animated film of the Lone Ranger. That is the only one I remember, so it stood out. I can see him walking in my mind. He never said anything, right? Or he had very little dialogue.

For me, the memory is about 38 years old but I remember a small boy said "thank you" to the masked man. The lone ranger really liked that feeling and was carried away with the sentiment to the point of acting silly. The film ended with the boy using a derogatory term for a gay man.

Here's a Dallas memory....Crazy Ray at Cowboys and Dallas Tornado games. When I was a kid, I liked his top hat that would squirt water.

I used to go to this club everynight. I loved it. We had a ton of friends there & danced all night. It was greatness back in the day!
