You have to also remember back then each airline had its own terminal. I can remember when Southwest Airlines had its offices located at Love Field in an old terminal and this was in the 80’s and the terminal looked all original although I cannot remember what airline it was. When they moved to their current offices the old terminal where they had been was demolished.

I remember going to Love Field to see my grandfather off on one of his trips to Israel and being able to GET ON THE PLANE and check it out. I want to say it was a double decker plane too. Can't go into an airport now and get on the plane to get back off of it before it takes off anymore.

In the 80's the only airlines that operated out of Love were Southwest, Muse & Braniff.

It seems to me that Delta was to the right of the lobby -- ticket counters -- then another terminal. I didn't go anywhere until 1968 when we all went to Vegas and LA - I am so glad I saw Caesar's Palace out by itself surrounded only by sand. Before that we would drop Daddy off to go on business trips (mostly to NY) but I really can't remember which airline. Usually when we picked him up was when I would explore..
I remember going to Love Field to see Batman and Robin around that time -- we went upstairs to the mezzanine and outside onto some patio - they came off the plane on the 'portable stairs' no jetways back then..
I also can remember sending my cousin off to Viet Nam about that time (we still have home movies of his plane leaving at sunset) - he came back a changed person. But at least he came back.

I remember Sanger Bro. on Elm and Lamar where El Centro is now, E.M. Kahn. was across the street A.Harris was across the street from Neiman's. Volks and Gus Roos were upscale. Volk also had men's shoes.
I'm trying to get the name of the Dept. store that was in Village Fair Shopping Center on Leadbetter and I-35-S IN Oak Cliff.. I'm thinking that it was Treasure City. It closed and the building stayed empty for awhile, then Sams Wholesale moved in.

Does anyone remember the gondola people cars that were at Love Field along the entrance? (Kind of like the ones at the state fair)
Let me clarify, during the 80’s Southwest Airlines administrative offices were housed in an old terminal building that was no longer being used as an actual terminal. There were some really neat items still inside but it was all offices and I would love to see pictures of that.

I remember the cars but wasn't it more of a monorail? I think it was for Braniff. Later the building became the nightclub known as "The Jet Set" - I think it was a swinger's place.

Those were streetcars. They ran until the 1950s, I believe.
The M-Line restored quite a few of the old trolleys and they run a free route throughout the Uptown/McKinney Ave area and I think into downtown as well.

Yes you might be right about the monorail,
I have never heard of the "Jet Set Club" and might not admit it if I did.
