When I lived here in the way back days of High School I lived in Joshua just south of Burleson. Believe it or not -the Burleson Winn Dixie had THE BEST brisket ever. There was also a place off of Jacksboro Hwy in Ft. Worth that was AMAZING. William's Ranch house.

Well I don't want to drive all they way over that way for some meat - so where to go in Dallas or North of Dallas up the Frisco/Allen way?

The only place that I have found that has good BBQ around here is Red/Hot/Blue.

Any ideas?

Best brisket is easy: Meshack's BBQ in Garland. It is literally a shack in Garland, but recognized as one of the top BBQ places in Dallas (and Texas).

Hey Jen...before you head further south, you should take a drive up Preston to The Bone on the Grill (a few miles west of Sherman). It's a little shack of a place...walk-up window only...but holy crap, best brisket sandwich I ever had. Didn't get a chance to try the ice cream pies as they had sold out for the day hours before. Here's a review (look in last half of the article):
