Default What should someone expect moving from California

First off there are no cops here. Speeding and rolling stop signs are common for me. 85 on the freeway is normal. I own guns. I like to be around some type of water. I don't like traffic. I kinda have an attitude. But we are considering moving around Dallas FT Worth or north or east of Dallas any ideas?

We own guns. My DH drives like super glue holds his foot to the gas pedal. He gets speeding tickets regularly. He also has a 'tude. DFW has lots of traffic issues. Of course driving in rush hour is hard. There are lakes around here; not especially beautiful ones, tho. We've had 23 days of 100+ weather and no rain. You will need to do as we do, and vacation away from this area a lot in the summer. When we retire we'll be away from DFW much of the time.

I would be taking an early out from my job. I would be working as an EMS supervisor. So in a nutshell.....job. Public safety sector is growing in Texas, not here.

Dude, stay in SD. You'll be miserable here. This is coming from a native of So Cal. I'm relatively happy here but San Diego is the one place I would trade all of what I have for.

As for the freeways, some people drive fast, others don't. What I have noticed though, is that people tend to change lanes whenever they please, if a car is in the way or not.

You won't need to keep that jacket for cool nights in the back seat of the car. At least, not til December.

Bring cash.

If you really drive that way. You won't have a license for very long in this state

*I drive 80 and 85 all the time. I get a ticket once every couple or three years.

*The gun laws here are significantly better than in Cali.

*There are all manner of lakes close by. The Gulf is a few hours away. It compares in no way to the beauty of Coastal California, however.

*Traffic is an issue around here.

*Lose the attitude if you come here. It'll hurt you.

LOL

85 is normal in Texas. Posted speeds on the toll roads is 70 and enforcement is sparse.

I'd look at Rockwall or Garland.

You should be able to get an EMS job in that area.
