She's a person I know. She has a baby boy that's pretty young. She needs outlet for cheap or free diapers, food and things Wixx does not supply.

My girlfriend took her some cash Sunday, but she needs something steady for a while and I have no idea on this stuff...I don't even have kids.

If anyone can think of ideas, Churches, Food Banks? anything
I would appreciate it.

I am trying to find her some stuff she needs..Apt shes in won't get under 84 degrees and that's with 4 fans going. They won't fix the AC?
I just don't know where to send her and everywhere shes called kind of give her the run-around!

She does have a Boyfriend and he works hard and in the sun all day but he can only do so much.

Any and all thoughts are appreciated

There is a church north of I-20 on 820 that gives out food for the needy. They were on television
news a few months back. The church is located on the frontage road.

She should at least try to apply for food stamps and government assistance if it's that bad. It doesn't hurt to try. I'd rather do that then have someone come on a public website asking for help.

She needs a job and subsidized daycare.

Child Care Program

I don't mean to be harsh but she chose to keep her baby or even chose to create a child. Handouts are very temporary. She needs longer term solutions. Also a window a/c unit might help. Buy one at Walmart and LEND it to her.....

if she is living with the father of her baby they need to apply together
and she should not lie on any application--
sounds harsh but I worked for the TX dept of health/human services for 5 yrs and saw plenty of people in her situation
fraud is punishable

Catholic Charities provides help as well--and not just to Catholics--

And welfare fraud is a felony. Being a convicted felon makes it REALLY difficult to get a decent job...

She did apply for assistance but has not gotten a response . I asked here on my own, she does not know that I did it.
She is trying to work out daycare now, and has been applying for jobs but there's not a lot out there and her part time is hit and miss.

Thanks for the help!

She's not living with the father. He's working on the other side of the state.
He ran out when he found out she was pregnant...
