Default Standard Pacific Homes

Has anyone recently bought a Standard Pacific home lately in the DFW area? It seems many other builders are willing to give heavy incentives (Drees gives $50k to many of their homes) but Standard Pacific is not very willing to negotiate. The salesperson says their homes are already lower priced and even on inventory, you only get $20k if you use their mortgage company. Any comment is appeciated.

Find the builder with the best deal, shouldn't be too hard in this market. If SP is not willing to go lower find one who will. Drees, Landstar and Highland are as good if not better than SP.

Thanks for the advice. We looked at quite a few communities and builders in Allen and Frisco and understand that those builders are more willing to offer incentives. However, my wife really likes Standard Pacific floorplans and the Twin Creeks area.

We just had a friend build a higher end Standard Pacific home in the Bluffs in Heritage over north of Fort Worth. They LOVE their house. They said that it was a challenge during the build, but they are very very happy with their support after the build and the follow up and through. In that particular area they chose Standard Pacific over Toll Brothers because of their plan and incentives and were really happy with their choice.

Good luck to you in yours!

I'm NOT in the Dallas area, but I can tell you that Standard Pacific in San Antonio in NOT very good. Builing or customer care follow ups.
