Also a bit more about my situation, my work is on the far eastern corner of Lewisville so it might better be described as in the neighborhood of Hebron or The Colony. Does that change anyone's thoughts about where to live and commute from? Sorry for the confusion.
The only Gables community (presently) that is in Lewisville proper is "The Villas at Vista Ridge". If you're looking for "upscale" - I don't think that would fit your needs. I'm not sure what kind of amenities you're looking for, but if you're looking for granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, etc., the VoVR does not have those amenities. It's mostly families there - I used to live in another Lewisville complex that was run by Gables (it's not anymore) and I looked at Villas at Vista Ridge before choosing a complex. The other Gables properties aren't in Lewisville proper - and Dallas traffic is so hit or miss you never know what kind of madness will be on the road.

I know you don't want to commute, but I would second the comment that stated to look in Uptown if it has to be a Gables Property and you're looking for upscale amenities. I live in a Gables property downtown and I love it - but the commute to Lewisville wouldn't be a good one for you, so I can't recommend it. If you are trying to stay in the general area surrounding Lewisville, and want an "upscale" apartment, the Creekside at Legacy might fit your needs.

Good luck with your decision!

Then you definitely don't want to commute from Uptown. That would be a LONG drive!!

Default what i'm looking for

Hi, it doesn't have to be a Gables community, I was only considering Gables because of someone's earlier recommendation.

As far as what ammenities I am looking for, I think my first consideration would be to be with other young upscale professionals rather than families. An on-site gym with pool and being close to some sort of nightlife or actual town or shopping/restaurants or community is also important.I would like granite and stainless but not having them isn't a dealbreaker. As long as the place is extremely well kept up, and is fresh and new. I have seen some complexes on-line that seem to have a more urban sensibility to them and that is appealing. I would prefer not to live in a old fashion garden style community. Any thoughts?

Have you even looked in Las Colinas and Valley Ranch? They are such a great location for you. The area around Lake Carolyn has a very high demographic of young professionals, the Valley Ranch area is a bit more suburban but still a young professional community and its close to Lewisville. Two of us mentioned this area and, unless I missed something, you never even gave the suggestion a passing glance......
