I use TV almost exclusively for entertainment and since almost all network programing is garbage if you want quality TV you need Cable. I keep odd hours, but my DVR is loaded with Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Game of Thrones, Curb your enthusiasm, et al. Note that none of those can be had in ANY fashion via free terrestrial TV. Then I can hit up on-demand for films that I forgot to record on HBO, Cinemax and the rest and hit full seasons of shows via HBO Go and similar websites. Unless I wait for the seasons on Blu-ray and am willing to essentially do a bunch of blind buying then cable is the only LEGAL way to partake in these series.

I use radio as a supplement for local information and for entertainment. So KRLD, KERA and WBAP keep me in the loop for local news, The Ticket keeps me informed of local off the wall news as well as local sports and entertainment and KXT and KDEGE keep me tuned in for local music.

Which Serius/XM stations cover Dallas News, tell me who's playing at Dan's Silverleaf in Denton and inform me that a dude went Bat-S crazy and killed himself and three others in Justin today? What channel focuses on Texas acts with a slant towards North Texas bands? What feed tells me that there are Baylor/SFA tickets to this weekends game going for $1 on Stub Hub right now?

If you spend all day in your car, can't use presets to avoid commercials and don't care about anything local then I'm sure satellite radio makes great sense. If you spend time in locations other than your car, know how to use presets and care about local events then paying extra cash monthly for songs that are already sitting on your iPod seems like a waste to some, me included, but to each his own.
Count me in your camp. I'm also very underwhelmed with satellite radio on the occassions I get it in a rental car. The one advantage I might see is if you are in your car a lot and want to get out of market sports games...but if I'm at home, there are other means for that.

So much for everyone's theory on the Eagle going to country. Russ Martin moved to afternoons today and is talking about this BS right now how everyone thought they were going to country and changing to The Bull. I knew it was BS and that site that redirected you to the Eagle's was crap.

That's not a load of crap. Clear Channel owns the domain and set it to forward to the Eagle's website. The reason is uncertain. Maybe they are indeed planning to change the format but are still keeping quiet about it, or maybe they're still considering it. I hope they don't, but I'm not comforted much by the station denying it.

Perhaps they allowed the rumor to spread to gauge reaction. If the reaction wasn't positive they could simply deny it as a rumor. Seems like a pretty smart way to test the waters.
