Hi guys

I was recently denied buying a rifle because I had an out of state drivers license. Is that legal?
(And for you gun control people out there, I know your story, your claim, duly noted thank you)

Yes, it's legal. Not all states have access to other states criminal records, which they look up by drivers license. Since you can't buy a gun if you are a convicted felon in TX, since they can't prove you are not with an out of state license, no gun sale.

In Montana you can buy a gun with an out of state licence, as long as the state is connected. make any cence? so people from North dakota, South dakota, Wyoming, Idaho. can buy a gun in Montana. but only those three. Probably the same where you are. I think thats a federal law? not sure though.

What does the law require in regards to a firearms purchase?

The law requires that you be able to pass a NCIS background
check, as well as be 18 or over. Title 1 or 2 weapons require
ATF and law enforcement approval. You will need to present
a valid state issued ID as well, to verify identity
