When I first met my wife 5 years ago, we used to go to the Harbor in Rockwall fairly regularly, for those who don't know, it's a development by the lake Ray Hubbard with restaurants, shops and a movie theatre, all around the lake...we stopped going for a couple of years but decided to head back out there last night...it looks like half the stores are gone, and was definitely emptier of people considering its a friday night...is that development going downhill?

The last time I was there it was packed (4th July). I have been several times this year and did notice alot of turnover. I associated it with high rent that I am sure those merchants pay for having a store there.

Well perhaps it was just an off night we picked...not that we were complaining, as it was usually packed to the gills when we went years ago, now we could get into restaurants and movies fairly quickly...

well then, maybe that was it. I KNEW something had to be going on for the place to be half empty on a friday night...although that still doesnt explain the empty retail space I saw all around the place...

Maybe things will pick up when the Bush interchange gets done? I seem to recall the morning news having a blurb about it and that there were some issues going on, but can't remember the details.

I heard (from people who used to work there) that there simply wasn't enough business out there to remain open.
