"North Texas SB" sounds lame, but "Metroplex SB" would have been appropriate. It certainly wasn't just Dallas' event. The All Star Game was different.

Yes local news, nationally was a different story. Dallas was always mentioned.

It wasn't local news because I don't reside in the DFW area. I'm talking about national news.

No, and I would expect a large amount to embrace Ft Worth. Maybe it's just the expectation.

Of course, people who move to Dallas from other regions typically think that Ft Worth being part of the metro does bring down the "cosmopolitan" factor.

You can deny it all you want.

Apparently not, given Fort Worth and Tarrant County's population growth.

That has to do with jobs and affordability, and not necessarily viewing Fort Worth as a cosmopolitan city.

If the cosmopolitan nature of a city was a deciding factor, then why do we have so many "I'm moving from LA/MIA/ATL/NY/CHI" threads on this site? Apparently, DFW (and its cities) are cosmopolitan ENOUGH to have people move here.

I'm not trying to imply that Fort Worth is a cultural mecca (it's not), but some people make it seem like all of Tarrant County is a barren wasteland devoid of life.

Does it have as much going on as Dallas? No. Do Dallas residents worry about that? No. Yet, somehow, we're able to coexist in the region.

So, they should then be called the Arlington Cowboys?! They aren't b/c the city of Dallas didn't want to pay Jerry, and the fact that it is the METROPLEX that supports the city of Dallas not the other way around.

Sorry to burst your bubble...but Dallas is the NINTH largest city. Houston is FOURTH and San Antonio is SEVENTH and hell even Austin is not far behind in THIRTEENTH. And by itself, Dallas is not an attraction/destination city in and of itself. The next most popular attraction behind Six Flags...is where Kennedy got murdered.

Good luck w/ that Chamber of Commerce employee.

Not saying there aren't things to do & are attractive to people in Dallas, but let's not get crazy thinking that Dallas more than the sum of it's suburb parts. It's not.

*pop*

Sorry to burst your bubble but Dallas supplanted San Diego as the eighth largest, so like I said, we will be alright.

I'm not exactly disagreeing with you. My only point is that, to many outsiders, Dallas is considered the more "worldly" city in the metro. Fort Worth is considered the more charming city.

So does Fort Worth. Fort Worth contributes to the culture in numerous ways and doesn't feel the need to try to compete with Dallas in trying to be cosmopolitan.

If that's a problem, then move somewhere else. The locals disagree and don't need you watering down our area's culture.
