I think what rak007 may be referring to is his own home country's affection for our USA chocolates, something we take for granted as it is so common here, but really sought after in other countries where they are not so commonplace.

I discovered this when working in Mexico and the people working for me kept talking about our chocolates... and I was thinking they were wanting something high-end like Godiva or exotic... but nooo, they were talking about M&M's, etc. And, when I asked if they couldn't get them there, they said yes, sometimes, but they were not the same quality as we have here.

So, when I made my Christmas trip back to the US, I stocked up on a few Walgreen's Christmas candy day-after sales (prices ran anywhere from 50% to 90% off). You would have thought I'd brought them pure gold when I distributed it out on my return!

So, rak007, wait until the day after a special holiday here (Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's or Easter) closest to the time of your return to your country, then go and load up on all of your favorite chocolates! However, do remember to plan for the added weight in your luggage (this stuff is heavy)... mine added about 20-25 lbs. to my luggage weight, which is a lot considering the 50# per luggage bag limit.

Good point--Whenever we have a US employee travel to the Philippines, we send them with chocolate

I spent nearly 10 years living abroad so I understand missing the tastes of home. However I never stockpiled chocolate because it just doesn't keep very well. Shrug.
