Default can anyone tell me about these neighborhoods???

My Realtor sent me these listings. I'm mobile so I can't send links so I'll just post addresses and you can look on Realtor.com because that's where they are.

1. 2012 McAdams Ave. Dallas, TX 75224 $795 3/2
2. 1419 E. Waco Ave. Dallas, TX 75216 $695 3/2
3. 4615 Luzon Ave. Dallas, TX $750 4/2
4. 122 montego drive. Mesquite $750 3/2
5. 9914 cedar mountain Dallas, TX $750 3/2

We are trying to stay close to my husbands school. Address 5151 regent Blvd. Irving TX. Work distance isn't necessary because we're paying our lease up for a yr til my husband's done with school.

Have you google "street view"ed these places? Have you driven by? Cutting straight to the chase- these are in VERY VERY SKETCHY NEIGHBORHOODS. At least the Dallas ones are. I'm not sure about the Mesquite one. Option #1 on McAdams is in a slightly better area than #'s 2/3/5 but still.......I would not walk my dog outside in any of these neighborhoods. Lots of poverty. Lots of drugs. Lots of crime. Very dirty. Very unkempt.

You could probably find an apartment for the $750 that would be in a better location/ better condition than any of these homes.

Oh goodness, NO! Ditto what PP said--look at the street view! There is no way I would live there as a young couple, let alone with small children!

If you are trying to stay close to Irving, why is your realtor sending you listings in South Dallas and Mesquite??

My advice? Rent an apartment in Valley Ranch or Irving north of 183. It may be a little more expensive

In general, don't go south of I-30 unless it is Oak Cliff--and I don't think you will find rentals in your price range there.

Hi luvmykids08_10,

Can you tell us what is the maximum price you are willing to pay for a rental? That would be very helpful to us.

I also agree that those home listings your realtor sent you aren't in nice areas. The Mesquite listing might be okay, but I still believe that there are better options available.

All the best

Also...these listings are not showing up on Realtor.com (at least for rent...a few come up with general info). Who is your realtor and are you sure they are trustworthy?

I like the Waco Ave one - it's got a stripped car parked just down the street ...

That Mesquite address is in a horrible location. There is alot of section 8 housing in that area.

OMG- forgot OP has kids! Hell no!! The public schools in these areas are the very worst in all of DFW- downright unsafe, buildings are falling apart, worst academic results, etc. No! No! No!!

I'm not sure where any of these places are actually. I told her out plan was to pay rent upfront for a yea4 because we have bad credit. And hopefully we could stay at about $750-$850 a month or $9500 a year.

Please don't move to these neighborhoods, especially with kids. As others have said, these parts of town are BAD! They will also be a horribly long commute for your husband to Irving, which will make him spend even more $ on gas for the car.

I thought you'd found a nice apartment in Bedford? What happened?
