Default Does it ever snow in Royse City?

It has been so hot here on the West Coast and thought I would dream a little. We are moving to Royse City in a few weeks.

Does it ever snow in Royse City or Rockwall?

It snows maybe once every 5 years, but it melts quick and never enough to make a snowman.

Thank you from choosing Texas vs Colorado like 90% of the other californians.

It's hot here, too, for most of the summer for most every summer. (This summer wasn't particularly hot.)

Every 5 years! no. Well here in N. Dallas(not far from Rockwall, Royce City) we get snow every year. Im not saying like it really snows here but sometimes there is some pretty good snow. Maybe 1-3 times a year

Yep snow maybe once or twice per year and maybe ice once or twice per year.

Much to the dismay of another poster here who is from Colorado and hates Dallas - remember that part of Colorado used to be part of Texas and we still own much of it in individual parcels and developments, so many people go skiing up there once or twice per year and also to visit in the summer.

No! of course it does not "snow" in Royce City. Its texas, not the rocky mountains! And for those of you who say it is snow its not- its ICE! It happened maybe, um ONCE in the past year. The best you can expect from this area is a one inch layer of ice and MAYBE a snow day.

There might be a light dusting of snow once a year. Things 3-4 times over the winter.

As for real measurable snow, that only happens every 5-10 years. Even then its melts in a day or two.

I live in the northern suburbs and we've had measurable snow every year since moving here in 2000..along with one or two sleet/ice events every year...it's also definitely colder up here than other areas, especially our winter temps compared to the official station at DFW airport. Winter of 2004, we had the Valentine's Day snow where we had about 4 inches here.

Well, that is nice to know. My children will be happy about that. I don't expect snow on the ground but it would be nice to see some fall from the sky every now and then.

Default snow!!!

I'm move to Royse City about 4 months ago from Virginia and I"ve been hoping to avoid the cold and snow, but a little will be ok. If you have children in the middle or high schools prepare them for strict dress codes and they do enforce it!!! My daugher was devastated coming from a school where you could wear whatever, within reason..
