hi, alls. i am thinking about either taking my kid to a private school or homeschooling. man, i never thought i'd ever consider homeschooling. i was so looking forward to ALL the free time i'd have once the kids go off to school.

anyways, as far as private schools go, i am looking for something fairly academically rigorous that won't force the parents to supplement too much at home. i have heard that greenhill is supposed to be good and someone was of the opinion that st. marks was worth considering.

also, not too much sports emphasis would be good.

we are in the park cities so maybe some commentary on the hassles of driving to/fro the private school campuses might be helpful.

my preschooler attends a lutheran school and it is ranked "excellent" by the National Lutheran School Association which is supposedly equivalent to "exemplary." any thoughts on the validity of the ecclesiastical ranking?

how do kids fare not having classmates live in the neighborhood?

also, how much do they hound you at the better private schools to volunteer and donate?

thanks, all, for your thoughts.
