Seeing Some Seafood?
I would not mind seeing a Pappadeaux there one day. Maybe even Dodie's Cajun seafood. Possibly Fish City.

Katz's to Frisco -- "I Can't Help It - I Gotta Tell Ya"
Also, I think Frisco would be a perfect Dallas entry for Katz's Deli if they ever build here. They are very popular in Austin and in Houston. Sure, they're from up north, but they've got fantastic fare. Seems like we're getting an infiltration of single-to-double location restaurants which were successful in another city, and now they're branching out (Driftwood's Salt Lick to Grand Prairie, for example).

I'd love to see both higher and lower end independents, offering international cusuine.
DFW is often compared to New York for having more restaurants per capita, but ours are mostly chains. Serving carefully measured portions of the same calculated recipes that are served everywhere else. Pure culinary boredom.
Something independent and eclectic would be a very welcome change. Even an independent focusing on local foods would be great, showcasing locally grown fruits, vegetables, grains, and meats.

Some good points. There's nothing wrong with originality. I would like more of that.

I always found it funny how the folks "inside the beltline" somehow felt that they were superior to those above the beltline. I heard things like "I never go above 635" or "Where is Frisco".
Look, if you live inside of 635, you don't live in the city. It is a suburb. In fact, the bit of city that exists (downtown), is not home to many residents.

Did you check where I live before posting this reply? Is this message meant for Lakewooder?

Frisco Market Center
One thing to keep in mind is the Frisco Market Center, at the NW corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Main. About 16 restaurants are planned for that project. If there's something you and I have been wanting to see come in, chances are it could be happening there in the near future. I don't know when they'll start construction. If I see anything, I'll post it.
In the meantime, check this out: Frisco Market Center, Frisco, Texas

Cracker Barrell, Dairy Queen? I don't think they will be locating in Frisco anytime soon! We could use a great Bagel shop or a good bakery for organics.

Some people mentioned Cracker Barrel. There are several all over DFW. There are two in Arlington. I love some of the chains myself but I, too, love to visit the unique, not-a-chain restaurants that are scattered around. Some of them are dives but alot of them are very charming. There are several in Arlington that we like to visit now and then. There's a Southern Recipes Grill just opened up which we went to Friday night. Great food and not just Southern, there was a variety of foods. Fishbone across from the new construction site of the Cowboys stadium in Arlington has great catfish. I hope they will not get torn down like the others in that area.
No offense to some posters here but I don't think the answer is bringing in alot of out-of-state restaurants only because it makes everywhere you go the same as where you left! Know what I mean? I would love to go to another state and sample what they have there and see what's different. Texas had some unique restaurants at first, On The Border, Salt Grass Steakhouse, Black-Eyed Pea, Dickie's BBQ, etc., just to name a few but those have/are branching out to other states so it seems they are not uniquely Texan anymore. Whenever I go to Denver to visit my brother I sometimes feel as if I haven't left Texas, everything is the same! Not just restaurants but stores, too.
