Mainly interested in the school, not the preschool. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

My neighbor's children went there and they loved it. I think mainly the preschool since her daughter transferred out for 1st grade. (did pre-school, K and primer) They moved to the local school to save on tuition. I think they would have stayed if money were not a factor.

We have a second grader in the school and absolutely love it. She is happy every day, both going to school and coming home. When I ask her to tell me her favorite thing, she will oftentimes say that she can't decide which was her favorite and then start reeling off three or four things they did in the day (science, spanish, art, computer lab, playground, friends, the list goes on...). I know they have a tour coming up next week - Tuesday, Nov 16 for Kinder and up. And the website, WesleyPrep.org has details on the tours plus lots of other great info. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. Wasn't able to make the open house yesterday, but will definitely try to attend the one next month.

Any additional thoughts on this school (specifically academic reputation compared with other North Dallas private schools)? Thanks in advance.

It's a good school with a good reputation. They place a kid or two or so at some of the better private high schools every year. It's a full notch, maybe two, below the several best k-6 type schools in terms of academic rigor. I say that because the best private middle schools will qualify every kid save a statistical outlier here and there in a top or very good private high school. Grace does not do that.

Thanks EDS. Good info. But are you talking about Wesley Prep or Grace Academy? And what would you consider the best K-6 (or K-8) schools in terms of academics? Thanks again.

Oh crap that's a big error on my part. I meant Wesley Prep.

Some of the best and I assume you mean around North Dallas:
In no particular order -
*. St. Marks Dallas boys (k or 1-12)
*. Hockaday Dallas girls (k-12)
*. Greenhill Dallas coed (k-12)
*. Lamplighter (k-4?)
*. St. Rita Catholic (k-8)
*. St. Monica Catholic (k-8)
*. Prince of Peace Catholic (k-8) Plano
*. Episcopal School of Dallas (k-12)

I'll leave them for someone else but a few North Dallas public elementary schools have excellent and improving reputations.

Really appreciate the input. Any "hidden gem" type schools out there? Maybe something a little smaller than the usual suspects? Thanks again.

All of those schools are small. The first four are tiny.

Good Shepard has a good academic reputation. I have a friend of a friend who teaches there - in her opinion it's good but not great.

Another acquaintance is an elementary teacher at Parrish Episcopal. He speaks very highly of the elementary school at Parrish and it's not simple homer-ism.
