If you're a senior. Sure. If you're a 10th grader, what are your chances of being yearbook editor or the lead in the musical? Pretty much zero - unless you're in PISD, where you get a crack at such leadership positions at the 9th/10th level.

There are definitely some pros to small(er). Souleiado summarized them quite well. But, there are also pros to bigger, as PISDStudent brought up. For things that aren't mainstream -that is those kids who aren't part of dance team, football, marching band - the critical mass concept is important. An oddball kid who might be able to find, at best, 2 or 3 similar kids in FISD can find 10 or 12 such kids in PISD or AISD. That's the difference between feeling like an isolated loser and feeling like part of an actual social group.

I also don't like Plano and Allen moving the kids around so much. I personally prefer the traditional 9-12 environment.
Don't knock it if you haven't tried it. I've heard my share of complaints (some petty, some real) about PISD from neighbors and neighbors' kids over the years. But the 2+2 format for high school has never been one of them. Most kids seem to really like it.

Interesting and valid points brought to the table by all.....And now I am even more confused as to what will be a best fit for us.....we had originally thought that we didn't like PISD because of the intense competition and if only the top 10% get their picks for college than it was definitely too much pressure....we are not sure how AISD plans to keep up with increased student population in their high school....and although FISD seemed impressive with their large number of schools their SAT and TAKS score were not that impressive.....
