Default From NH to Frisco...iso of a church home..with a twist

Ok before anybody gets worried, we're not into anything weird . The twist is that we are an interracial couple and we're looking for a church home that congregation is made up of both whites and blacks. A little background on us...I gew up in the 512 AC and have lived in different areas of TX. I moved to NH back in 88(job transfer). My wife is from NH where she's lived most of her life. From a religious standpoint I was raised in the AME church and she was raised Catholic. Together we joined a baptist church. We're not particular about what denomination (although she does not want to go back to a catholic church) but perfer more mainstream type.. RE: baptist,Methodist, community. Would love to hear from those whose congregation had more than just a token(1 or 2) minorities. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Default Covenant Church in Carrollton...

I think Covenant Church in Carrollton would be a very good option for you if that's not too far for you to drive.

Covenant Church Carrollton - Homepage

2644 E. Trinity Mills
Carrollton, Tx. 75006

I have heard that they are a good church with maybe more of the racial balance you are seeking.

I have heard that Covenant Church too is great as far as the overall feel of being welcome and the flow of how the service goes. I had a man clean my carpets who was telling me about it.

Default Re:

My former neighbors, who are African-American, attend Covenant Church precisely BECAUSE it's a racially mixed church, rather than the almost all-black or all-white population you will find in most congregations. So I agree with the other posters who think that this is the church for you.
