I'm not understanding why you can't have your son tested for the LEAP program if you are renting a home in the CFBISD. It is my understanding that you have 30 days to produce the utility bill. If you enrolled your son in school already then you should of been given 30 days to produce the utility bill. Your lease agreement meanwhile should work and of course your son's shot records. I work for the district and help with enrollment on occassion at my school. I'd call the student services building and verify this. Good luck with the LEAP testing. You'll love the G/T program in CFBISD. I truely feel you have made a great choice.

Default leap prog

ah well. . . the postcard notice that we are now signed up for electric service arrived yesterday so I guess he got a short vacation from school . We'll be calling on Monday to set up an appt for the testing. We've decided not to enroll him anywhere until the testing is done since it would play havoc on his nerves to start at the local school and then suddenly be shifted to Mccoy. it was hard enough leaving his class 900 miles away and the less transferring we have to do the better.
I really have a lot of hopes for the school district and am looking forward to my child finally having his needs met in a supportive environment!

Just so you know, the testing process does take some time, maybe a couple of months. They give a couple of tests, an interview, and then have an meeting about admitting him to the program.

What grade will your son be in?

I know that's normally how long it takes but we'd already met with the director and the education specialist before our move and they got a chance to meet my son for a bit. They hope to be able to speed things along and have everything done by the end of the month. Hopefully that will be the case.
