Savannah, TX?
My husband and I are considering a DR Horton home in Savannah, TX. Does anyone have comments about the community and homeowners?

If you want to live in The Truman Show, where every 6th house looks the same, you are miles from anything, and resale is very difficult, then Savannah is the place to be.

On the Oklahoma border
It is up between Denton and McKinney on 380. What used to be out in the middle of nowhere.

Well I've driven out there and honestly I think the yards are WAY TOO SMALL. I've seen condos and apartments with comparable "patios" LOL.
That said there are a few people on the board (at least one IIRC) that like/love it. There are also things out there like the water slide, etc. However I often wonder how crowded that is? Anyway hopefully that poster will find this too It is WAY out there if you work in downtown Dallas, I guess not so bad if you work in Denton?

I know several people that work in the Valley Ranch Area and drive from Aubrey/Savannah/Little Elm/Frisco daily. They aren't in love with the drive but they love living in those areas due to the family friendly areas. I really think it is a matter of what you want for yourself and family. A drive is sometimes worth it. As for DR Horton I've heard both positive and negative. Again, I think any opinions you get are going to go either way depending on who you talk too. I know a few people ,though, that have DR Horton homes and they have been pleased.

Thanks everyone. We're going to keep it on our list because we have a growing family. The resale issue is the main thing that I'm concerned with...so we'll make a decision when the condo sells.
