Does anyone know how long terminal 2W at DFW remained the "Braniff Terminal"? I know the terminal opened in January 1974, but I'm not sure how long it was officially known as the "Braniff Terminal".

Thank you very much for your help!!

I don't have a link to anything official, but it was known as that at least until the early-mid 80's when the original Braniff International ceased operations. Not sure if subsequent incarnations of Braniff used that terminal or not.

I've been through or at the airport for work at least once a week since the late 80's. Even back in 1988 and 1989, people did not call it the Braniff Terminal. I was going to guess what UpstateBooster said -- it stopped being called the Braniff Terminal sometime in the early or mid-80's. But I'm not sure. Wish I was, though! It's a great trivia question!

What a great page! Made my eyes mist up a bit (I'm an airline nerd from waaaay back). My main exposure to BN was occasional family trips to New Orleans or Atlanta when one could still enjoy outdoor observation decks.... Ah, the aroma of jet exhaust... Back to reality - We flew on Texas International to DFW once in 1979 on a "Peanuts" fare for an overnight trip, and that was my only real experience of a BN hub in action (along with the AA and DL hubs). I do miss those days!

What a fantastic link to the past ! I don't know what made me the most nostalgic, but one group of pictures got me to wondering, "does anybody still fly those old Boeing 727" ? Don't know when I last saw a 727 ?
