Allen to addison (Dallas, Plano, West: lease, construction, safe)

Daily commute from Allen (near Stacy and 121) to Addison circle (arapaho). Please suggest good routes in am and pm, I have flex schedule, so can come and leave early/late.

I would safely approximate 45 minutes +/- 5 minutes. It all depends on the weather, traffic, route.

I have never really timed my drive, but I have jumped onto stacy to 75 south to 635 and then to the tollway in approx 35 minutes. Add probably another 10 to addison circle using the tollway.
(*Note: at 2:00 in the afternoon).

There are plenty choices or routes you can take from allen to addison. It all depends if you cutover from East to West then South; South on 75 then West on any of the main roads; or South on 75, 635 and north on the tollway or Dallas parkway to Addison.

Other routes would include the George Bush Tollway, Preston Road, Plano Parkway.
To many to count.

Probably a good route would be south on 75 to Plano Parkway to North Dallas Tollway.
Use the tollway between Plano Parkway and Arapaho.
This may cut your drive time to approx. 35 minutes. It all depends on traffic and weather.

Have you signed a lease yet? If not, I'd rethink Allen if I were you. Allen to Addison will suck.

Google traffic- which is pretty accurate since it tracks cell phone locations - is showing no wrecks/slowdowns right now (7am) and a 30-32 mintute travel time for all major routes- 121, Bush, and 635 to connect to the Tollroad. I suspect if I checked again at 7:30 or 8, that time would be 45-55 minutes because of the routine slowdowns & accidents on both the Tollroad and the other highways, not to mention the construction on 635.

If you can leave at 7am or earlier and return at 6pm or later, it's probably 30 minutes most days. If you have to travel during rush hour, I'd double that to 60 min just to be safe & arrive on time.

At 7:55am, the drive is now 47 minutes per Google traffic - back up and/or wrecks on all 3 major routes. just to give you an idea of the difference between leaving at 7 and 8.
