Last winter was so bad that I started to research moving out of the area. If I go further north, I'd at least be in an area that knows how to deal with winter weather. Further south and I would have to deal with it even less than I do here.

I cant tell you how much I struggled with his question. All winter long when I was out playing golf I found myself wondering how am I going to handle missing the snow as my handicap dropped from all the winter golf rounds. It is so tough having the ability to play golf most weeks in Dallas.

But let me ask, do you miss the cost of living here as well? Not sure where you are from in the Northeast but I bet it is REALLY pricey to live where you would have liked.

There is not perfect place, only trade offs of one problem (or benefit) for another. Just have to plug yourself into the right scenario.
The OP isn't actually paying for anything. His/her parents are.

Don't understand the people saying we don't get four seasons. We do.

Mild.
Warm.
Hot.
Unbearably hot.

There you go, four season.

Snow in Dallas is a disaster. If you want snow, go back to Yankee land.
