I am trying to find a preschool for my 4 year old boy for the next fall. I am looking for a part-time 2 or may be 3 day a week option in Sachse, Murphy, Garland, Plano, Allen, Rowlett or Rockwall. I am a stay at home mom who lives in Murphy area. I do not mind a little drive as long as the school is a good fit for my fairly shy child. (Although, please do not offer Fort Worth, since that will kill me )

We are fairly new to Texas so any suggestions or names of schools are very welcome.

Have you looked for "mother's day out" programs at local churches? My grandchild attended a well known program which is part of a private school pK-12. And, Pre-K (age 4 in the Fall) absolutely required 5x a week. So, based on my experience, the stronger programs will be the same. I don't know that I agree with a 5x a week program for pre-K but if that's the case for the "great well-known's", you'd probably have more luck finding a 2-3 day program thru the churches or some of the local day care centers. The community centers will likely have preschool enrichment activities that will fit. I noticed that Murphy's Parks & Rec. dept has a "Lil Einstein" program. I'd start there!

Early Learning Centers : Plano ISD

The programs at the Plano high schools are very well done and you choose 2-4 days a week.

The Plano Rec centers also offer a lot of classes for preschoolers of you can look at their Leisure catalog.

Otherwise, church run programs are your most likely option.
