That's a great area to look in, OP!
Better than HPISD? or at least comparable?

Not as good as HPISD but very good nonetheless- Pearce is a solid top 10 high school in the area. Behind HPHS and Plano West & Senior and prob comprable to Coppell and Southlake Carroll. SAT scores are about 75 pts lower than HP's.

Define "better." One is free, the other is not.

Well, im trying to decide whether we should move to HP/UP(HPISD) with the lack of diversity.or should we try to get our kids into Greenhill(much more diverse) and live in Preston Hollow or Lake Highlands/Lakewood.Which is better academically?

I'll go back to my question of - $20k per kid (min) x 3 = $60k/yr for a school and you get no tax break on the expense VS a $30k/yr mortgage with $700k as a down payment and you get a mortgage interest deduction. You must already be a millionaire, because I can't see how this math makes sense unless you are (but I'm not a finance person, so maybe it does).

Our oldest is still in Finland attending an IB school,so tuition would only be for our two youngsters(who are currently being home-schooled). Its not only about money, but also having well balanced kids(not just snobby rich white kids in HP).

Well. I would suggest being open minded and non prejudiced a bit. Just because parents make money, does not mean they automatically produce snobby children. It's all in how you choose to,raise your own children to face adversity, prosperity and humility. No matter what enclave of wealth you hop to. You seem to have a desire to be at the top of the chain , and so hp,up being middle of the chain feels like a threat? Then don't do it.

If you are in town, you should go to this meeting at 6:30 pm on Tuesday at Woodrow Wilson High:

ACADEMY OF INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE

They will be recapping the recent student trip to Costa Rica and be giving info on a trip to China, the IB Conference in Spain this summer and planning for a trip to London and Paris next year. It would be a good time to ask staff and parents questions about IB Diploma Programme, IBCC and IB MYP at J. L. Long Middle School next door.

From what Ive seen from the website looks like a good choice for upper school, but we need middle and lower school.I have heard a few good things about Lakewood elem(not so much the middle school). But those people said I would have to go private for middle school or just move to Lake Highlands(Richardson schools in Dallas). Really like the look and feel of Woodrow...or atleast the website anyways
