I will be starting work in Grand Prairie in the near future, and I would like to find an apartment/condo nearby to live in. From what I've read Grand Prairie isn't the greatest area, and the real estate person I've been talking with says that Arlington and Irvin are nicer. Irving seems promising, being closer to downtown Dallas.

I am in Dallas now to look at some places, but unfortunately the real estate agent has disappeared, not reachable by office phone, cell phone, email, and nobody else at the office knows where she is.

So what are some recommendations for apartments in Irving that are ~30 minutes or less from Grand Prairie? I am a single guy, 23 years old, I'd like somewhere that is reasonably close to restaurants and stores and things like that. I am looking for a 1 bedroom place, around $800/month.

Thanks.

Where in grand prairie will you be working? Dallas may be a better option for a younger single guy then Irving.

Near W Marshall Drive and 360.

I seems that everybody says North Dallas is the best place to live in the city, and I think that traffic would be too bad going from there to Grand Prairie. I would also prefer not to live right in the city.

The happening places for the young and single are generally in Dallas near downtown(not North Dallas, but Addison is a somewhat happening place). But if you do not want to live in the city then these suggestions are no good.
