Hello all, I had much fun in the metroplex on the first visit back in February. After a bunch of debate with friends and such, I and a friend are going back this weekend. Really need a weekend getaway after a stressful two weeks!

As far as events are concerned, isn't there a car show going on? What else events-wise is going on? Anything on earlyish Friday evening/afternoon? We are also going to a concert Saturday night. Also keep in mind we will most likely be only on the Dallas side and north of I-30, as most of the stuff I'm interested in is on that side.

Also, how's the construction on 635 going? And on 35e south of that, are those toll lanes being built on the side?

.

Here are two of the best recommended sites for all Dallas area events - guidelive.com and pegasusnews.com - where you can enter your own specific event, or choose the site's recommended events, or enter specific dates for all events, or a combination of these. I believe I did see something about a car show.

Enjoy!

Car show starting today at the convention center. Huge! Been to it a few times in the past and enjoyed it.

Another question. This time I'm considering taking 69 South from Overland Park and then from Tulsa who knows, either I-44 to 35 or 69/75 the whole way, not to save on tolls, but to enjoy more interesting scenery on the way. I normally don't care, but some parts of both the KS turnpike and northern Oklahoma along I-35 are really boring and desolate. I know much of eastern KS and probably Oklahoma is well forested and such. Good idea?
