McKinney ISD is pretty diverse. We are latino and there are lots of different cultures. We live on the West Side. It's a great place to live although it is getting crowded fast!!

I was just reading about McKinney. Are there lots of rentals? My family will eventually buy but with us knowing nothing about DFW, we'd like to rent first and get to know the various areas before we dicide on a neighborhood to buy in. We are more interested in 3 bedroom rentals (Duplex, townhouse, or single family home is preferred over apartment but will consider apartments)

My sister lives in a DR Horton community(Eagle something?) on the west side of McKinney that has a lot of rentals. Its off of Custer a few miles south of 380.

There are some rentals but they go fast. We were just looking to rent since we just sold our house. Thank goodness a friend from church told us about his house and we are renting it. Be prepared to pay between $1,300 and $1,500 for a 4 bedroom home. Go to realtordotcom and search for rentals there to give you an idea. The McKinney zips are 75070 (southwest) 75071 (north) 75069 (east)

Hello,
My husband and I are an AA couple (no kids) living in McKinney (North of Dallas). It is a middle/ upper middle class community, with really nice homes. When we moved here approx. 1 year ago McKinney was 5% AA. Surprisingly to us, our neighboorhood is very diverse (AA, Hispanic, Asian, and Caucasian). Honestly, I can't say the same for the entire city. We like it here and for the most part felt welcomed. The city population is growing at a fast rate and we are hoping for increased diversity.
The schools here, Frisco ISD and McKinney ISD, have great ratings.

McKinney is about as far north as you can go so if you will be looking for jobs in Dallas, be advised you will need a lot of gas money and aspirin (also maybe xanax).

Most of Richardson ISD is in the Dallas city limits. It doesn't mean much as far as criminal activity. There are good and bad areas in both Dallas and Richardson. I live in city of Dallas/Richardson ISD.
ETA - Some of city of Richardson feeds into Plano ISD and I think some of city of Garland feeds into RISD or vice versa. I can't remember, but there isn't a total match between cities and school districts.

Anything from North Dallas to Plano could be considered.

Does the DART go to and from Allen,Texas?

So would it be safe to say that anything North of Plano will not have Dart lightrail?
