When it's all said and done, the local lanes will be on top of the managed lanes thru a great stretch of the project.

GOD fobids this ever happens, but I sure hope all those pillars are earthquake proof. If not, and a massive earthquake hits Dallas, the rich managed lanes are going to get squash by the poor local lanes. I can see the 89 Loma Prieta quake happening all over again but only worse.

I've seen some crazy stuff on here, but this takes the cake.

I hope they make it hurricane proof too! Wouldn't want to see Katrina happen here.

In the last 20 years LBJ has been under some kind of construction more than it has been wide open. I also think it takes them way to long to finish projects.

No way, a complicated infrastructure project requiring moving of utilities, shifting traffic with a minimum disruption to the existing roadway, while not reducing the existing capacity of a road takes a while? Shut is down completely and it can get rebuilt in a few months maybe a bit over a year.

All I see is 2D. Do I need some special eyes to see the third and fourth dimensions?

The bypass lanes are interesting. Have they been done anywhere else in the metroplex?

The bypass lanes are definitely an interest concept. Its probably European since the Developer is from Europe. The first phase of Managed Lanes are opening at 1:00 AM on Saturday. Make sure to register on | LBJ TEXpress Lanes to get 50% discount for car pooling and HOV lanes. You can declare your status from your mobile phone. Apple and Android apps are just days away.
