We're Chinese moving to Plano, TX. We have an 8 yr old daughter and are looking for an elementary school in Plano PSD with a large Chinese enrollment. Skaggs school is at 70% Asian. Does anyone know if this is mostly Chinese? Any other info or comments on Skaggs (or nearby Wyatt & Andrews). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....

Yes, it is mostly Chinese (largely Taiwanese, although an ever-increasing number of ex-mainlanders). I'd estimate Skaggs as 40-50% Chinese. The remainder of the Asian proportion is largely Indian, with an occasional Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, or other SE Asian thrown in. The other two schools have slightly smaller Asian percentages, with similar breakdowns.

Big G is right , I will just add Mathews to the list , it does not compare to Skagg , but is very similar to Wyatt.

I live in the Russell Creek area which is where Skaggs is located. Almost all my neighbors are either Chinese are Indian. I love it, they have been wonderful neighbors.

If you want to be around a very large Chinese community, use Russell Creek park as a reference. Thats where Skaggs is and the neighborhoods are all majority Asian. A large number of those are Chinese as well.

Default thanks for the info...

Thanks for the reply...it helps. Do you or anyone you know have a first-hand experience with Skaggs school? We live in Chicago and know little except for some stats we read on-line. It would be nice to chat with someone who has a child at Skaggs.
Thanks again....
