Hi everyone,

I'll be attending UT Dallas this coming Fall as a freshmen. I'm wondering if you guys have any suggestion about which apartment that is close to the university and offers reasonable prizes for students. My budget only allows me to afford at most $450/month, and I also prefer ones with at least 2 bedrooms.
By the way, hows the security within the area? And also is there Asian market around? I'm just trying to minimize the cost as much as I can by living in an apartment and cooking by myself.

Your answers will be much appreciated. Thank you

You should search this forum as there have been some similar posts in the past six months or so.

I do think that you will find your budget too low for your expectation. I don't think you will find even a 1-bedroom apt for $450 or less. Maybe rent a room?

Good luck.

Thank you so much for your answer Jenni.

I'm sorry that I didnt make myself clear enough. What I actually meant is since I'm gonna share an apartment with some people, I'm willing to contribute at most $450/month. So with 2 or 3 people, the range of prices that I'm looking for should not exceed $900/month for 2 people, and $1350 for 3 people.
I looked up in the university website and found a list of apartment complexes around the area. Yet I'm very confused because there are so many of them, and I'm not at all familiar with the place yet.
Is there any way I can upload the file so that people can see it? Its in pdf format and it seems to me that the forum doesnt accept that.

There are ads near the computer labs. It's always full of people looking for roommates or home owners renting a room, grad students that need someone to take care of their lease, etc.

I looked at apts. in that area but I wasn't really convinced with all the bad reviews online. I asked classmates and they recommended buying a cheap car and commuting from Plano. "Safer", they said.

And what about living on campus?
