John, if I can find a job I am out of here. I want to stay in the federal government for the benefits and job security. My husbands job can transfer but since he is an electrician and even being in the union they can sometimes have layoffs its better that we not relocate without me having a job.
Great do you have a lead on a fed gov job here you can transfer or move yourself to take? I know EPA is DT Dallas and FEMA has an office in Denton and there are bound to be tons others, I'm new here and dont know where they are or how it works to move to a different city with the fed gov. Good luck and again welcome to Texas, I wasn born here but got here as soon as I could

USCIS has a big service center just north of downtown Dallas.
Bureau of Prisons has a service center in Grand Prairie.
Dept of Labor is in Dallas.

Thanks I noticed a few BOP jobs definitely want to stay in Law Enforcement. Not sure what USCIS is but I will definitely look into it.

MrsAmErika,
I noticed on your location it says DMV - did you see the tread about that in the MD forum?

We moved here from MD a few years ago. I had been in MD several years (got my BS from Univ of MD-CP) and my husband was from MD. We lived in MoCo, HoCo, and the the Easter Shore. I would never ever consider moving back. We love it here. Great cost of living and plenty of things to do. I do miss being close to the mountains and ocean and it gets HOT during the summer but otherwise it's about as great of a place that I've ever lived.

Im in Upper Marlboro, MD.

Thanks Princesskick thats good to know, honestly I dont feel like its a decision I will regret. I hate the winters. The only soft spot for me is missing my family. There all in Maryland and I have a very large family.
