[quote=octo;45942061]You "win" on a technicality (others are already making fun of you).

I just priced a round trip DFW - FRA for mid November, 2 weeks stay.

$1500 ("hurry only 4 seats left").

Same dates, JFK - FRA is $600 (same airline)

It gets even better when booking business class. $8000 DFW vs. $2500 JFK. Same airline, same hard product. LOL!!!

Asking people to use words correctly is not winning via technicality. I have no issue with LegalEagleDFW he likes to argue, I'm fine with that. VegasMan_72, although an engineer, seems to value his seat of the pants observations regarding comparative cost of living analysis over the most well accepted data study of its kind in economics. In other words he believes he knows more about COL analysis than these folks - http://coli.org - they've been doing this sort of thing full time since the 1960s and doing it well enough to be paid for their data and analysis by state governments, major university economics departments, CVBs, USBEA, The Census Bureau and so on.

I had great luck with Southwest in Kansas City. Their prices were usually 5-10% cheaper than other airlines. However, they aren't cheaper here.

I want to visit my parents in North Carolina for a long weekend in January. AA offers a non-stop round trip flight DFW-RDU for $227. For the same dates, non-stop, Southwest is the same exact price. I'm guessing they just price match AA. If they'd lower the price by 5%, they could really hurt AA's business.

Southwest is great and I try to fly with them when I can, but I won't pay extra to fly with them.
