That's in zip code 75062, and if you do a search for rentals in that zip on Trulia, you'll find some rent houses too. There are some cute nieghborhoods in that zip code if you stay EAST of Story Road.

I've found with Trulia or Zillow that the site never gets updated with houses that have been leased.. maybe just my luck but everytime I find a house and call on it someone tells me that the house has been leased.

Realtor.com has been pretty good for me as well.

The Highlands should be in your price range. I can attest to the fact that they are nice--several friends live there. Also, there are a couple of duplexes in Coppell that come up for rent every once in awhile, but go quickly

Good point! Look at everything and follow up on anything of interest. Most experienced/private landlords use the free sites (Zillow, Trulia, even CL) or just put "for rent" signs out and property managers and realtors use paid sites, too.

Thanks for all of the advice! I was thinking of stopping by Archstone at Macarthur. It looks like they have town home style apartments.

Does anyone have any experience with this property? Also my husband is a teacher for Irving ISD. Do you think we could swing a discount at apartment complexes?

I think the new DART will go right by Archstone apts. so make sure you see exactly which apartment you wouod get. I know teachers get special deals on buying HUD properties, but don't know about renting....

I live opposite to Archstone and had a few friends living there. The couple of houses that I visited were pretty nice.

Squirl is right. The DART line goes right behind the property.

Try www.apartments.com, some very good listings there in your budget.
