Not sure if I want to pounce if similar can be purchased Dallas since having cars shipped across country is a pain in the rear . On first glance used car prices seem 2k higher in Dallas than where I am locally and tend to come from rental fleets.
Around Christmas 2006 I got an '04 Accord with 30K miles for $16,750 from Manuel Dodge. It's not a Dodge dealership anymore but it's still there. It may be that used cars do generally run higher here.

Many thanks for the recommendation! I will check them out.

I'm wondering the same thing as well, I might have to check how much the difference is to ship a car from NY, versus buying one in DFW.

Craigs List can be dicey lots of scammers and even some robbers use it to lure people to a meeting. A Dealer or Carmax has a place of business and is real. Last car I bought was from Carmax and experience was good.

I've got burned twice by using Craigslist. Both times from scammers in Dallas, (and with legal troubles to this day). Wherever you buy, make sure you fill out all the necessary paperwork if buying private party.

Not a reco, but I have heard very good things about Sewell Auto Group

http://www.sewell.com/web/inventory/...s/Preowned/oup.

They generally sell higher end brands, and their prices reflect their reputation.

Just search autotrader and select "Dealers Only".

All the dealers post some of their inventory up there and you should be able to find an Accord EX-L for around that price + taxes and fees. Beware some cars don't come with seat heaters (if they're from say CA or Nevada etc.).

I'm looking for a pre-owned car now. Like some other posters have said cars.com and autotrader.com are a good place to start your search. Personally I prefer using established dealers, you can search online to get an idea what they have and the prices.
You can find the going prices on cars using Kelly Blue Book (kbb.com) and Edmunds.com. Blackbook is an other guide for prices of used cars.
A lot of the dealers buy lease return cars and resell them, they're usually well cared for. If you can afford it, I'd go with a "Certified" pre-owned vehicle, they will have a good warranty. Good luck on your search.

We've bought three vehicles from Carmax and never has a problem, but we don't like to haggle and generally have Hondas so we know blue book before going in.

That said, be careful with Craigslist. I've heard horror stories second hand though.
