Hi:

I currently work in the Arlington area and want to buy or build a brand new house. I am considering all areas, and would appreciate feedback. I want to be near new services (grocery, dry cleaners, etc), and don't want to feel like I am living in the country. My budget is pretty broad - I can go from $200,000 to $475,000. Also, I would appreciate feedback on builders too. Are there any new home builders to stay away from? I am fairly new to the Dallas / Fort Worth area, so all suggestions and feedback are appreciated!

To the OP: your best bet is to get an architect and then they will recommend builders that they have worked with in the past. You'll get 3-4 suggestions to interview. Builders don't design houses, they make standard alterations to plans that architects designed.
