Default Anyone currently living in Fairview, Lucas or Parker??

How do you like it? Can you tell me what you think of the areas? Are they too rural? How close is shopping? How are Lovejoy schools? Hoping to
get some input from someone who lives in one of those towns.

Thanks for all the info!!

I live in Allen which is close by but have friends who live in Fairview and Lucas. First, it's not too far out. It takes some in Frisco longer to drive 2 miles to the grocery than it does to get from Fairview to Plano. Lovejoy schools are excellent (all are rated exemplary). And soon, you'll have more shopping than you could possibly imagine at Stacy and 75, which already has the Allen Outlets.
Lucas and Parker are a little more 'out there' than Fairview but all have some really nice areas.

Well, Lovejoy schools don't go to 12th grade yet. That may (or may not) impact their ratings down the road as they add grades.

Embraer will become famous soon enoughEmbraer will become famous soon enough
I have family that just moved from Allen to Lucas and I was out there at their house all the time.

The drive is a good 10 to 15 minutes "to town" Allen is probably 10 minutes away, but if you want to go anywhere ( mall, restaurants, shops) then you will drive a little more than 10 minutes. Could be more during rush hour since the main road has only one lane in either direction.

It is still pretty much rural out there but that is probably going to change. Then again it may not as many people choose to keep it that way. My aunt's house doesn't even have internet access yet because it is so isolated from the city. They had to hook up sattelite internet.

I'm not so sure about most areas but where they bought their house in Lucas is expensive. The homes are HUGE and so are the asking prices. They are all brand new and have large properties. Most homes are still going up so there is still quite a bit of construction going on and you will see plenty of construction trucks, piles of dirt/sand and grass laying around.

Personally the rural/isolated lifestyle is not for me so I could never live there. But if you are like my aunt and uncle who like large properties and living away from the city then Lucas is actually pretty good for that. Hopefully the area will develop more in the coming years, but all in all a nice area if that is what you are looking for.

Default Lovin' Lovejoy

I live in Fairview and we love it.

If it's shopping you want, we're getting one of the largest malls built within 10 minutes of most homes at 75&Stacy. Howefer, it is still far enough away that I still feel like I'm in the country (I have 3 acres).
As far as schools, it is one of the best districts int he state. Check out www.lovejoylove.org to see how the parents feel about our schools.

It's a great place to live.
