Default Avignon - Windhaven Toll brothers

Hello,

We are wondering if Avignon windhaven is a good choice to invest in new construction home. Here is why

1. Not sure if this at the right price point for ordinary joe from texas ( that weeds out he majority which means longer time in the market to sell). Does anyone know what was the average time in market/listed time for similar homes in that area pre 2008 crash ??

A jumbo loan community for sure..
2. Sound more targeted towards east and west coast transplants
3. We have lived in plano for a few years now..but plano turning out to be another richardson based on what other forums discuss sounds scary..
4. More and more people are moving north...does this mean in 2050 people will be communiting from oaklahoma to dallas ?? every house gets old some day or the other
5. Frisco's newman estates etc.. sounds good we even visited ...but its way out there.. Dallas being so Big...not sure if we want to live that far out..

The question is will Plano..(west plano) hold its value like highland park ??..that's the question i am asking..

Thanks..

W. Plano will be just fine. Not Highland Park fine...but more than fine compared to other places, like Frisco & others. If you like it, go for it. Or just buy in Highland Park and settle all issues.

Avignon is a nice subdivision and a fine bet for future resale. That part of Plano is very prestigious and nice and you can find very nicely maintained older custom houses as well in great established neighborhoods. Over all Plano has a lot going on for it and holds a great future with nice location, corporate business, awesome schools, variety of dining, shopping and entertainment options, great city services and facilities so no need to worry. Most scary things are posted on forums by people who love to promote their newer burbs or older city neighborhoods and love to bash Plano. Just look at land vs structure ratio of property to understand that Plano (specially far West Plano where you are looking) is very high compared to other suburbs. Farther you go lesser is land value and higher the chance for prices going down as you loose newness of the house. Highland Park, West Plano, Southlake and Coppell have staying power due to their location, schools and prestige.
