If I look in Grapevine or Coppell even, how bad is the noise from the airport? I've looked at Red Oak and Oak Leaf and these two don't look too bad. They may be an option as well. Schools are where I'm struggling. Grand Praire is less than desirable to say the least from what I've read. I know this would be an ideal location from a standpoint of proximity to work, but strong schools are the priority.

How about a little farther Northwest, towards Trophy Club or Flower Mound? The distance is a little further, but there seems to be multiple choices options for getting to work if there is a major wreck?

I don't think the noise is going to be bad from the Coppell area from what I've experienced. It may be from the Grapevine area depending where you are and how close to the airport your are.

Coppell looks good. Strong schools. That may be the answer. 21 miles.

I will certainly consider Coppell. In addition, how does the Flower Mound / Trophy Club areas look? I don't think the drive will be that much worse then Coppell will it? The schools look great for these areas as well. I like the close proximity to a large lake also.

It seems like a nice community that's often overlooked because it is south of I-30. But, for that reason, housing prices are not as expensive as they are on the north side. I know nothing about the schools though. Here are a couple of the city's websites: Cedar Hill Economic Development Corporation and Welcome to the Cedar Hill Chamber of Commerce - Online!
I work with a guy who lives in Cedar Hill and he loves it. Good idea.

If I decide on Rockwall, which appeals to me most based on my research, and I leave for work around 6 AM, can I make it to the Cockrell Hill area in an hour? The same question holds true for my second choice, Grapevine? How bad is the noise in Grapevine though with the DFW airport being in such close proximity?

How about if I go more towards the Fort Worth area? How bad would the commute be from North Richland Hills, Hurst or Bedford? I would still leave around 6 AM if needed?
In light traffic it would take me almost an hour to get to NRH from north Dallas.

check out Trophy Club, It is west of Grapevine on 114. Wonderful community, great schools. You will have to commute a little longer but your wife and kids will love it. And you know what they say "Happy wife- happy life"

Default Moving from Georgia to Dallas, TX

I live in Forney and I feel it is conveniently located with easy access to highways. The schools here are exemplary rated and there is a homey feel in this community. Per maquest your commute would be approx 28.55 miles. Hope this helps!

Most people in Forney and Terrell, which is even further out, work in Dallas. They have to, there's not many opportunities otherwise.

My husband was raised in Forney. My stepkids, too. It's a nice little community but it's growing rapidly.
