My son's school is going to Aubrey, Texas north of The Colony.

I've also heard there is a good pumpkin patch in the Coppell area.

I've been to a really good one up near Double Oak as well.

I did an online search and found this place:
Big Orange Pumpkin Farm, Celina, TX

It is a little out of the way, but it looks pretty neat. Happy pumpkin-picking!

You won't find apple farms here. The climate isn't right. You can find a few peach farms that let you pick them yourself, but the season is already over...

I've been here before, and it is cute. Just be sure to go SOON. The longer you wait, the more you'll be disappointed. The pumpkins are GONE after the first week or so in October.

Also, I hate to disappoint, but there really isn't any apple picking in the Dallas area. You could travel to west Texas, possibly, but that would be a 6 or 7 hour drive.

Good luck!!

Go to website... pumpkinpatchesandmore dot org

You can do a search for places to pick pumpkins, apples, peaches, etc. They'll also tell you whether or not you can actually pull the pumpkin off the vine or if they're sitting in a field.

If you want to visit a place where you get a huge selection of pumpkins go to the Flower Mound pumpkin patch. It's designed for the kiddo set but they'll have a great time and it's a great place to get fall pictures. Of course with this weather you'll have to pretend it's fall.

My husband and I took our daughter to the flower mound pumpkin patch last year, and she had a blast. They just have the pumkins lying in the field, you don't get to actually pick them off the vine.
They also have a lot of character cutouts (disney, sesame street, dora the explorer), that were fun to look at and pose for pictures. I believe admission and parking was free, and the cost of refreshments and pumpkins was very reasonable.

I just wanted to thank everyone for all the great advice! We look forward to going this weekend even if it will be in 85 degree weather.

We love the one in Celina. The hay ride is fun as well as feeding the animals..... Lots of opportunities too to take pictures.
