I miss the dive bars or down market bars of Houston. Where are they near Plano if they exist? Just sports bar with good cold reasonably priced beer... Stans is the closest thing I have seen so far... but even it is upscale for what I would like to know exists in N Dallas....

Shuck'n'Jive perhaps.

Last Chance Saloon was a total dive but sadly failed. Something else started up there but it doesn't vibe dive bar.

Actually, Austin Avenue in Plano was probably your best bet, but it burned down. It was there forever though, and definitely met your criteria.

I'd also suggest the End Zone, at Parker and Independence. I haven't tried this place, looks cool, but is probably a bit more upscale than you are looking for...
The Allen Wickers

And, if you want to make the trek to downtown McKinney, both The Pub and Churchill's would meet your criteria.

Austin Avenue was the king of sports/dive bars in Plano, and since it's burned there has been a void.
The Franchise (custer & parker) and The End Zone are both divey, but not nearly as busy as Austin Avenue was. You can also try Rack Daddies, which is really a pool bar on Coit Road in Richardson but is divey. There is also Austin Avenue II, on Campbell and Plano Road in Richardson. Finally Sharkeys on Preston & Campbell.

If you live in Dallas and all this city does is drink booze so if places in Plano don't work, you won't have to look to hard to find bars in this drunk city.
There are many bars all over, the place I am looking for is a laid back crowd to enjoy a beer or two and talk with like minded regular people. I am not looking to hang out with a bunch of drunks as you seem to assume
