we are moving to Dallas in a few months and are looking at all areas. We really like Keller. How much did you pay for your house and how old is it? Thanks!

Default Best Suburbs

Hi,
to my opinion, the best suburbs are Plano and Frisco.
Plano is older, more mature and developed city. the best schools in the area.
it is however more expensive and age has it's toll on the houses. if you have the budget, i recommend dallas.

Frisco is a younger, developing city, lot's a young couples and the north part of the city has a lot of new houses being built and naturally the prices of the housing are lower. also, now that the tollway is going all the way to the northern parts of the city, reaching dallas is only 5-10 min. longer then Plano.

FRISCO, FRISCO, FRISCO. We lived there for 7 years and recently moved to charlotte. Wow, what a difference, we miss Frisco sooooooo much. It is one of the nicest towns to live in, low crime, great schools: Welcome to the City of Frisco

Our house is 8 years old. It's in a smaller subdivision called Forest Lakes. We are right down the road (ruffe snow) from the Keller Pointe. We lucked out on pricing since the privious owners new house was ready for them to move into. Originally it was priced at $349k then they lowered it to $339k. we got it for $300k. It's 4 bedromms 3-1/2 ba with a "bonus room" upstairs. 3 car garage, 1/3 acre corner lot. it's roughly 3300 sqft.
The ridculious thing in my mind is that this was the smallest house we looked at, (In NOVA that $$ would have got you a 1500sq ft TH) But I really liked the neighborhood and the yard was pretty big by DFW standards.

The neighborhood is very pretty with trees starting to mature and fountians etc... well planned out as the houses are spaced nicely and you don't get that feeling of being on top of each other.

I will check into Corinth, thank you. I think the more we search, the more we realize it will be hard to get as much property as we'd like. We'll have to do our priority list. Thank goodness for this site. It really helps us gain so much information & save so much time narrowing down where we should live. Everyone's responses are so helpful.

Any opinions on Shady Shores? When I search Corinth, Shady Shores pops up a lot on the property search. Thanks!

I noticed you live in Lantana. This was one of the areas we visited when looking in Flower Mound. I fell in love with Bridlewood, though a little pricey for now. Where is this place in FM that has the larger lots you speak of?

Wow these places are all very far out - some in other counties. Watch out, don't get hoodwinked into a long commute and a house falling in value...

My brother lives in Lewisville and I can tell you Corinth is very nice. I would also put the small community of Highland Village on your to see list. My college roomate moved form Lewisville to Corinith and has been very happy with the move.
