Default Any views on KNox-Henderson area to relocate?

We are a 30 something professional couple currently renting in Las Colinas business district. We are new to Dallas from Europe. We want to be quite central but in a lively area since we have no children yet. The new homes just East of the Central expressway look nice and near bars and restaurants but not sure on the neighbourhood. Is it safe? I heard Henderson side is a little edgy? Anyone have any views on this neighbourhood. There appears to be a lot of new development in this area. We want a single family home rather than a town home.

Thanks!

It's trendy and overpriced IMHO.

But Chuy's is RIGHT there. YUM!!!

If I were single and worked downtown or probably pretty much anywhere in the Dallas area that is one spot I would look to live.

Eh...proximity to Chuy's isn't really a factor for me in deciding where to live.

Personally I'd rather live in an area that's a bit less trendy and put money away for a down payment but that's just me.

See: Dallas Fort Worth Urban Forum - Near East Dallas: New Henderson Ave. Developments

About 20 something acres of old apartments have been torn down or are about to go (demolition fences up) and all of Henderson down to Ross is being redeveloped. Also see: Andres Properties: The Shops on Henderson

Also, the lower and middle greenville areas have lots of nice houses and its near pretty much everything. Arts, bars, restaurants, shopping, white rock late, etc.
